THE MOST UNUSUAL OF NORFOLK’S CHURCHES

St Michael’s Church was built in the 13th century and is next to the Walled Garden and in front of an awe-inspiring landscape of woodland. It’s just a few steps from the house, so you can slip into your wedding dress as you would in your own home before making a grand entrance and walking down the aisle.

The epitome of Old English charm, this is one of the oldest Norfolk churches and is full of history and romance. Its heavy wooden door and iron knocker concealing a stunning combination of; tiled flooring, stained glass windows, and romantic candelabra-style lighting. The church is also where Clement Paston and his wife, Alice are buried and you’ll find a beautiful stone memorial for them both at the end of the church, complete with a poetic inscription on bravery and love, making this church a unique and unusual place to get married in Norfolk.

If you’re looking to have a church wedding in Norfolk, St Michael’s Church provides couples with the option of having a more traditional and religious ceremony. It seats up to 90 guests, who can watch the bride’s grand entrance from their wooden pews.
