Norwich

Norwich is a wonderful fusion of the modern and the historic. It is at the same time the most complete Medieval city in the UK, but is also a vibrant and bustling city with shopping centres, restaurants, bars and cafes, museums, theatres, art galleries and a lively nightlife. Visit the wonderful Norman Cathedral or Norwich Castle which dates back to 1121. The arts, music, history and culture are at the heart of Norwich life, epitomised in world famous annual Norfolk and Norwich Festival. Spend a wonderful day out for all the family in Norwich, only 10 miles south of Oxnead.

Cromer

Just 13 miles north of Oxnead, Cromer is a traditional seaside town famous for its pier and Cromer crab. The cliff tops overlook miles of sandy beaches and the streets and alleyways of the town are bustling with shops, cafes and restaurants. Discover the museums the impressive parish church and the famous Victorian Pier which features the world’s only pier end show.

Sheringham

Sheringham lies just 17 miles north of Oxnead and is a traditional seaside town with an award winning beach, coastal and country walks and the heritage steam railway. Join locals for a dip in the sea at any time of the year, including New Year’s Day, or visit Sheringhan Park which was designed by Humphrey Repton, whose son John Adey Repton lived at Oxnead

Holt

Holt is a beautiful historic Georgian market town surrounded by parks and close to the coast. It’s charming streets are home to shops, restaurants, cafes, wine bars, art galleries and antique shops. Holt Country Park has 100’s of acres of woodland with nature trails and an adventure playground. Alternatively take a ride on the Poppy Line, a steam railway which runs from Holt to Sheringham.

Aylsham

Aylsham is an historic market town on the River Bure just 3 miles from Oxnead. It has a pretty and bustling market square, interesting independent boutiques and shops, cafes, pubs, beaurtiful architecture and a stunning parish church. Visit Blickling Hall or Felbrigg Hall nearby, take a ride on the Bure Valley Railway to Wroxham, or visit the Aylsham Show which takes place on August Bank Holiday Monday.
